Any "Tuning For Dummies" links?

A link to explain acronyms and the definitions of those terms would be useful as well.

I thought there was a link to something like that, but I sure can't find it.

you have to be a little careful doing generic searches because acronyms/abbreviations can change on different forums and for different engines. Here's a perfect example. On Japanese cars, especially older ones, you'll see the airflow sensor abbreviated as AFM (Air Flow Meter). On GM engines though, AFM means Active Fuel Management and refers to cylinder deactivation. But be careful, because on a Hemi engine that's called MDS (Multi Displacement System).

You can only answer the same question so many times. I'd suggest searching the forum but this forums search is useless.

the problem is that most of the resources on the internet are wrong, particularly those on romraider forums around maf and injector tuning. this is the only car out there with two independent, interoperating fuel systems.

i have a series of screencasts that cover basics, and am working on more that should be helpful.

as far as the basics of suck/spit/bang/blow timing afrs etc, romraider forums are good for that, but they're usually talking about ej's. so the problem isn't that we don't have a sticky. it's that there aren't enough relevant resources (to our car) out there to sticky yet. i'm trying to get more out there, but it takes time. @mad_sb has been very helpful in this regard, but we need more people to jump in and create the resources to link in a sticky.

Instead of the forum's search option why can't someone just use google and type "ft86club.com search term/keywords"

So why have a forum at all?? If we EVER wanted to actually KNOW anything, just google it - right?

So lets just do away with these superfluous "Forums" because all knowledge is available through the "Google" - ALL HAIL THE GOOGLE

Google does NOT find everything one might be interested in on a particular topic. If you have been searching lately for "Guitar Stores" and you search "Tuning for dummies" Google will use your cookies and assume you meant tuning GUITARS.

So from now on - ONLY ASK QUESTIONS on these forums if you have already exhausted ALL POSSIBLE effort using GOOGLE first.
Because you might just be wasting the valuable time of those that frequent these forums....

I mean the arguement "dont waste my time - google it first" just wasted your time giving a non-answer....

there are actually few times I've said "wow I wish that person would just search"

This forum is pretty good about it. This isn't necessarily an example where OP should have searched. I think his post is useful.

He OP posted "what size are stock wheels?" then I would understand.. give him a break
