Sagging Springs
It's starting to bug me a lot now. After about 2 months of having Eibach Sportlines installed on my BRZ I noticed the rear end of my BRZ is sitting about 1/2" lower than the front.
A quick Google search revealed that this is a common problem with Eibach and some other manufacturers. Is there a way to fix the rear sag? Will replacing the 2 rear springs with new Sportline springs fix the sag? If I decided to buy a different set of springs then which would you all recommend that have a good history of No Sagging? (Looking for 1"-1.5" drop) Since purchasing and installing a brand new set of springs will cost me another $500-$600...should I just go for Coilovers? My ride quality sucks with Sportlines. Will Coilovers provide a better ride quality? What Coilovers are recommended around here that have a good history of not being shitty? Obviously I want to save money, but I want a quality product. Which springs/Coilovers provide the best quality for the price? I honestly thought Eibach was a very reputable company, but after tons of forum posts about their saggy springs over the past years I'm seriously doubting giving their product a second chance. Thanks for the input everyone!

Ya I was just fixing to purchase the Sportline springs to go along with my wheels in the spring. This sucks

This thread got me to notice that I'm not the only one who's rear sags.

I should mention, there are some people who say that they have used Eibach for years without any issues. The sagging seems to be random and not on every product. In my case though, I definitely have a saggy butt on my car. Personally if I'm going to spend $400+ on springs and installation then I want 100% chance that the product is going to last...not a 10% or 20% chance that in a few months I'll need to replace them.

You can save a lot on installation. All you need is a jack, stands, a few wrenches, and an afternoon/evening.
I have sportlines. I don't believe mine are showing any signs of sagging. I've had mine since the end of summer (2013).

Maybe this is completely stupid...but I'd prefer the front lower than the rear. Would swapping the front and rear springs actually do this? Or...does this issue have something to do with the weight on the rear end?

The vendor I purchased from is contacting Eibach on Monday. I'm hoping I can just purchase 2 rear springs and be done with it.
I shouldn't have to do this, but just curious if removing the spare tire would raise up the rear any?

Mine has certainly "settled" a bit lower in the rear. But I also think my stock shocks have given up and feels like i'm riding bumpstops on rough roads. I would say the rear is at least 1/4 -1/2 inch lower without anything but the spare in the trunk.
Coilovers are going on in the spring. I have ran sportlines on both a 1st gen tc and the second gen tc and they are certainly a softer spring and settle quite a bit but they settled evenly so it wasn't noticeable. Never had issues with blown stock struts on either of the tCs. |
