Exclamation Help. 10 series owners

My new 10 came with a regular auto shift knob. Any idea how to swap them? I can't seem to take off the solar knob .......

I did turn. But it seems the root of the entire knob inside the boot came off. But I couldn't get the knob to come off the boot. Weird.

The bottom part of the shift housing (whatever material it's made out of) just pops straight down. Then you unscrew it.
