Cusco intake pipe...did I install this correctly?

Had a few questions maybe you all could help me with.

1. Do the silicone needs need to be completely flush with the ends of where you connect to the stock airbox and the throttle body? They are on secure and not going anywhere but they don't look as flush as I've seen in the pictures.

2. The blue and red section that connect to the smaller rubber hose, the hose WILL NOT go all the way to the end of it...also, I could easily move that red screw around to turn the blue flange....is it supposed to not move? It came out of the box like that.

3. This relates to the perrin filter I installed, some of the foam protrudes outside of the intake box.....is this ok or do you recommend trimming? I was told no trimming was needed but the filter just seems a bit larger than the factory box....

I have pics here of the intake pipe..

(No, just make sure that it does not leak out air) They are on secure and not going anywhere but they don't look as flush as I've seen in the pictures.(You could trying loosen everything and start from the top if you are that worried)

(I would look into that "red connection" and you "could" bring it in more, there is a lot of wiggly room, but again. Like in the first comment as long as it does not leak, it should be good. Check out the red connection though nothing should be "easily moved")

3. This relates to the perrin filter I installed, some of the foam protrudes outside of the intake box.....is this ok or do you recommend trimming? I've driven the car pretty hard several times for about an hour each time today. No CEL, no strange noises or idle, car is pulling....HARD...so I'm thinking...success??

Why you guys buy this Japanese crap for your hard earned $ while you are comfortably based in the US and can buy Perrin for cheap with free delivery?

I can get Japanese stuff with good discounts and much cheaper delivery than US made goods but still I did not find anything better than Perrin inlet hose which could be installed with 100% perfect fit being made from flexible silicone. Only if you want to keep that stupid sound tube of course...

Anyway, since you bought it already: as stated above - try re-installing this starting from alligning the throttle body end first.

I love Perrin stuff, and debated getting the Perrin Inlet tube but I liked the look and construction of this better. Since it was an Xmas gift from family, I wasn't too worried about how much or where it shipped from (they got it from FT86SpeedFactory btw)

I am going to try that this weekend I commute 20 miles to work and had no issues with it on the highway or anything. No weird noises or anything, so I'm thinking it's working.

I like the sound tube

+1 it has function and was created to give drivers a better feel and connection (audio wise) to their engine. I often listen to it to gauge where I am rev wise. I like the sound it makes now with the filter and the intake tube, it sounds mean!

I'm very new to the car (paper plates) and I just can't see myself pulling out the sound tube. Unique noise to me vs my old 08 WRX with CAI.

The only options I see to keep the sound tube is Gimmick(3ply) (ew [possible intake collapse due to being an inferior copy of AVO (5ply)]), Cusco, and AVO.

Quick Question, that Cusco is full aluminum right?

Plus I am still torn whether I want the noise maker or not. Lol

Nice install and item!

Just ensure you don't over tighten the metal screws/clips.

How's the performance? Do you have a drop in filter as well?

It is his personal build and he does what he want ~_`

You might want to skip on a noise generator. <-----90% of people who said that got it said it was a waste sadly On a positive note they are tons of videos on youtube that reviews intake. And it has shown that drop in pretty much make the same HP gained as a full bolt on after market. check out dsports they reviewed a few and dyno ED them as well.

Wow somehow just saw this! Yes full
Aluminum from what I can see, I reinstalled everything a few days later and aligned it and tightened everything. Looks and sounds great my only concern now is that small rubber hose that connects to the small blue elbow. It looks as if two tubes in one. A smaller tube, with a later tube around it. The larger tube seems to have space/gap between the smaller tube. I'm wondering if I did that from pulling it though? I put some stretch silicone airtight tape around it just to be on the safe side.

How do I know if I'm over tightening. I tightened them with a small socket until they could not be tightened anymore. I wanted everything secure and airtight. I don't think I crushed the plastic or broke anything. The silicone tube parts are nice and tight but they bulge a little from the tightening. I'm assuming this is slightly normal.

My concern was that little tube by the elbow of the intake pipe.

LOVE the Perrin filter. It sounds great, there is a noticeable increase in performance which at first I thought was placebo effect but, not at all, I can definitely feel and hear the difference.

My revs look good no strange idle issues or hissing noises coming from engine. Had it on for a few weeks now and performs great. No CELs either.

I love this combo and am really happy with it.
