Should I do this?

Was at the airport last night and a piece of very solid and very square curb ambushed my wheels and gouged the shit out of both wheels on the right hand side. A small chunk of tire also got scooped out of the front right tire sidewall. Obviously I'm livid but can only blame myself for not being alert to the way the lane curved and how that triangular piece of curb stuck out conveniently to kill any wheels that comes near it.

I've got 17x8 RPF1's square but with two out of action, I was thinking of putting the remaining two on the back (for the traction) and putting the old 16" on the front, until I can get things sorted. Back tire will be 235/45/17 (643.3mm diameter) and front will be 205/55/16 (631.9mm). Other than looking a bit retarded, would the 11.4mm difference be bad for the suspension/drive train?

It will be fine. The only thing that might not work properly is the stability control system as it assumes wheel speeds based on a square wheel setup.

Put the stock wheels on the back, and go have fun drifting.

I would put the 16"s in the front and you would be fine. After all it's only temporary.

I wouldn't mind putting all 4 stockies back on but running E85 made it apparent just how little grip I have, especially in the wet. I'll give this crazy idea a go when I get off work.
