What happens when you live in a college town...

Woke up to this. I don't understand why people have the need to be such assholes.

Can anyone recommend the cheapest option to fix this? I'm still in college and I've been saving up for 2 years for this car; I'm still paying it off. Extremely heartbroken right now

How deep is it? Try using scratch x or some type of polish to see if you can get some of it out and see how deep it went. Also might want to invest in a cheap car cover :/

The scratch feels very deep. I'll try scratch x and see if it works, but I feel like I'll need to take it to a detailer or body shop

You're going to have to go to a body shop and it will probably cost a shitload of money to fix, but you kind of have to fix it if it's down to the metal otherwise that shit could rust.

I hope whoever did this to your car gets an extreme karmic smackdown.

e: When someone dented my GTI quarter panel in the CC parking lot I took it to Diamond Finish Auto Body downtown. They did a really good job blending paint and even managed to get the glass out without damaging any window seals. Here's their site if you want to check them out: http://www.diamondfinishautobody.com/ . They weren't cheap but they did do a nice job.

Honestly just make a claim on ur insurance. this is going to cost a lot and it's gunna go under your comp coverage and won't effect your premium. I've had my car keyed in the past and went that route and I am very glad I did, I saw no changes in my insurance and it didn't cost me a dime out of my pocket because my body shop took care of everything.

First file a police report.

Second, go to a body shop and get an estimate.

Third, file a claim with your insurance company.

This is at least over 1000 dollars worth of damage. Entire side needs to be repainted.

Sorry for your loss. Haters gonna hate.

Was this at SB or the SGV? I live pretty close to El Monte.

I know a good body shop if you're in the 626.

Yep, I took the first step at least. The scratches cover three fenders so I feel as if it's going to be pricey. This was in SB, but I'm home in El Monte for about three weeks, so any recommendations would be awesome

I actually parked behind the apartment complex away from the street. I knew IV was full of degenerates but I've parked there the whole entire summer and nothing happened...

You need to be careful no matter where you park in IV unfortunately.

I've seen people kick side mirrors right off parked cars at night.

I am sorry that happened, and I agree you should go the insurance route.

Side note, I am not sure if this is still the case (been a few years now), but be careful around IV as you need to worry about the local PD as well as CHP. CHP stopped my buddy on the local streets deep in IV and Goleta many times.
