P&L Headers + Over Pipe

Since the Group Buy thread of the P&L Headers was closed due to loss of vendor status. EDIT: Thanks to @Hawaiian for pointing that out.

@P&L Motorsports

Short version, I am really happy with the headers and over pipe now that I have non-defective parts. The install and fitment was very easy (again with the corrected part). It sounds great and I can feel a definite smoothing of the torque dip.

However, their communications skills are terrible. I wouldn't have minded too much that it took 8 months to resolve the defect had they been better at communicating. There were months that nothing was said, no updates about delays and minimal explanations of what was going on. I shouldn't have had to poke and prod them to get updates when the issue and the delays were on their end.

I have a FA20Club tune that has been "sitting on the shelf" due to the delays. Now that this is sorted, I will be taking it to a dyno. Plots will be posted!

Is that with just installing the headers or a tune with it? Thanks!

I'm waiting on my replacement downpipe. I received the revised overpipe, but I'm still getting some rubbing on the left turns. Hopefully, I can update you all soon.

That's with the catted P&L headers, Perrin OP, Perrin catted FP, Perrin CAI, Perrin intake tube, Perrin crank pulley. Nameless axle back.

The base line was with parts installed and no tune. Just bolting on the parts yield pretty much no gain. AFR was at 10:1. ECM over compensate for the increased air flow.

The overall gain is a little disappointed. But the difference is definitely noticeable and bye bye torque dip. Car drove like it should came from the factory.

The tune was done by Mike @ Moto-East via ECUTek. Great guy, very knowledgeable.

Usually the threads get locked like that when the vendors do not pay their vendor fee. I have to go pick up my fixed downpipe tomorrow from UPS and hopefully will get the header installed when the weather gets a little nicer. I will be using a moto-east tune as well.

Were the overpipes or frontpipes defective?

When I installed the replacement downpipe, I put the over pipe back in as well. The fitment was a night and day difference. There was a "fat knuckle" of spacing at the smallest gap. So much better that I was confident enough to put the underpanels back on before I test drove it. It was very much a bolt-on component with the corrected parts.

The downpipe off of the header was the defective part. They replaced both the down pipe and over pipe. Not sure if the over pipe needed to be though.

Awesome! I was a bit worried. I replaced the overpipe with the revised one and it was still rubbing. Should be getting the downpipe soon though!

None of them. It was the downpipe portion of the headers that was the problem.

I don't know why Mrjester had communication probleme. I am in Canada and had no problem at all for that with P&L !
