EL Borla and Perrin 2.5 non resonated

I've had the Perrin system on for a while. Loud at first but I got used to it.

Put the header on this weekend. Louder, too much so, and I'm guessing rasp. Sounds like a heat shield buzzing under load and certain rpms. I removed the heat shield above the muffler thinking it was doing the buzz. Can't take it long term.

I'm going to put the stock cat back on this weekend and look at welding a resonator in the Perrin..... maybe two!

Generally sounds like crap to me now.

Sorry! That's the reason why we'd recommend a resonated catback if you plan on upgrading the header. Since an aftermarket header either gets rid of a cat or replaces it with a high flow cat, it will increase the sound significantly. Especially if a non catted front pipe is used.

We sell the resonated mid pipe if you're interested, just give us a call.

There's a lot of people with the unresonated one looking for the resonated midpipe after getting a header. Huge market right there for Perrin.

I had originally ordered a catted, resonated system form a vendor here. After waiting months to get it I settled on the non resonated being he had stock of those and I was tired of waiting.

anyway I ordered the resonated mid-pipe directly from Perrin last weekend. It arrived today and I immediately put it on.

MUCH better! Just a smidge of rasp under heavy load but otherwise sounds great. I think its even quieter than the system before the header.

Do you guys think that perrins resonated midpipe is more quiet than the stock midpipe or is that wishful thinking?
