Amp and subwoofer with stock HU (BRZ)

Ok so first off I tried Google extensivly, but there is a lot of conflicting info out there. So here it is:

I have a rockford fosgate amp and RF 10" sub that I want to hook up to the stock Hu in my BRZ, does it have pre-outs? If not, what must I do? Or should I just wait a couple of pay checks and upgrade the HU before attempting an install (something I really dont want to do...inda want to keep the stock HU for a while longer until I can afford what I REALLY want as far as HU goes.)

So, advice, help? I tried Google but just ended up more confused with talk of DSPs and line levelers and stuff...I've done a basic sub and amp install in my last car with an aftermarket HU, and I do work in the electronics field, so I'm not afraid to get technical, but really the info out there is somewhat wishwashy i've noticed. Someone care to explain to me what needs be done?

Nothing out of the ordinary to install and sub and and with your stock HU.
If you have done it before, you can easily do it in your brz. Two pre-outs for the sub on the back of the HU and tapping into the power wire for your amp. Best of luck and go get MOAR BASS!

You are correct, no rca pre amp outputs in the BRZ. The LC7i is a good option to add them.

Nothing really needs to be done, but adding an Audio Control LC2 between the HU and the amp (speaker level into the LC2 and pre-outs from LC2 to amp) will definitely help to clean up the signal and make it alot nicer, plus basically properly balance the audio and boost the bass properly so the amp is seeing good signal levels. It's not very complex DSP, but it does do the job pretty well.

I Removed the factory amp in the trunk and took the input from the HU (which is tied directly to the front stage) and put that through a cheap line level converter (you may not need to do this my Alpine amp only accepts line level input IE RCA)

I then split the RCA side of the line out and used it for Channels 1, 2 and SUB

I ran the channels 1 and 2 back to the door speakers (the sandard output side of the factory amp)

and...Sub out put goes to my Sub...no surprise right?

There is also a Amp on signal line in the factory amp connector...so that worked great, only had to run Power and ground to the AMP, and the doors don't rattle anymore because the mids in the doors aren't trying to act like subwoofers anymore.

Just finished installing my sub today. I will confirm that there are no rca connections on the back of the stock HU. However I used a line converter( about 20 bucks at my local car audio shop) hooked straight into the harness for the oem amp which will provide your rca outs to the real amp.

Get an Audio Control LC2. It's basically a bass restorer/balancer (b/c the stock HU will remove a lot of bass to not badly overdrive the stock crap speakers) with line driver pre-outs on the output and speaker line inputs. About half the cost of a good aftermarket HU.

From what i have found there is now way to get actual rca out on head unit, but after researching for my frs with the newer bespoke headunit since it does not have rca output either. Rock ford fosgate makes a high level to rca converter that i plan on using and taping into the factory audio amp signals. The product is very handy and works well from all the reviews. Here is the model so you can look into it. Rockford fosgate rfi2sw and its like 10 bucks

The 2013 "base" head unit does, yes. Not the 10 series or 2014 though.
