Buddy club tail owners

I installed mine with the relay about a week ago. A few days back my ABS and traction lights came on. I brought it to the dealer and it turns out the tail lamp fuse (7.5a) was blown. So they put a new one in and it blew again on the way home. I'm going to try a 10a fuse and see if it works. Anyone else experience this?

I read about this on another forum. I know the lights didn't see much R&D time installed onto the cars so this may be a result.

Weird how could that be connected? Putting in a larger fuse may not be wisest, something has to give maybe the wiring itself go limp noodle next? Carefull man...

The 10a seems to be working. Prolly just a higher workload on the fuse due to the hyper flash relay. Should be ok.

Same thing when I installed actual Oem fog lights on my 95 civic back I the day. It would blow the accessories fuse until I upgraded from a 15w to a 20w fuse. Then everything was Gucci for 3 years till I sold it for $ to mod my FRS.

This is good info to know! I've had mine on for 2 weeks now with no problems but I'll be keeping an eye on this!

UPDATE: My 10a fuse keeps blowing too I don't wanna go any higher but I fear it is a factory defect. The vendor I bought them from is looking into what can be done now. I still love these tails. LOL

It has been brought to BuddyClub USA's attention that there is an issue a very small percentage of the flasher relay that came with the Buddy Club tail lights for FRS/BRZ. They will be getting the new updated relays in within the next 48 hours. If you are experiencing issues like the one stated above, send your shipping information and a copy of your receipt or some form of proof of purchase to info@buddyclub.us and you will be sent a replacement.

How can that be? The relay controls the turn signals not the brake lights. My brake light fuse keeps popping. I put my stock tails back in WITH the BuddyClub relay and no more blown fuses. So my $500 set of tails has been on a bench in my garage waiting for someone to replace them. Can you help?

I'm not an electrician nor do I know anything about the electrical system for the ZN6. But I would assume that the relay has a little bit work load than just simply controlling the blinker. But like I said earlier, contact BuddyClub directly on this matter. You can email them at Info@buddyclub.us . If you would rather call them, their phone number is 909-923-9188.
