Click if you have costum tune + cold weather

Do you guys with costum tunes experience the cold start popping?

Legend says it's the cat possibly just warming up, just wanted to ask. My shop might keep it overnight this week to replicate It in the morning. Mine got super bad at -20 c, thanks!

I park inside at home and there's only been one really cold day where it's been parked outside but I haven't noticed anything yet.

EDIT: Should have mentioned I have an OpenFlash tune on an otherwise stock car.

What happens when you put hot water in a glass taken straight from the freezer?

I have the OFT e85 tune and I got some pops during one startup (4 maybe) but once the rpms dropped nothing. I believe it is extra fuel detonating in the intake or the header (just my thoughts).

Pretty sure its just the "cat warmup" that the ECU does. Retarded timing + rich startup = popping. It is VERY pronounced with a borla UEL + N1 exhaust. It sounds like the bathroom the morning after taco bell night.

I do not have a custom tune yet, and I get popping every single cold start. Buffalo has been like 20-35 degrees for a week now.

Although, the popping occurs anywhere below 45ish F. I'm newer to cars in terms of assessing these types of things but I think what djcarbine said is a reasonable conclusion

Disclaimer: I park in the garage, not exactly toasty by any means though
