Rear spoiler sealant (3M adhesive)?
I have a Stillen rear spoiler which is attached with 3M adhesive and it's fine right now, but I notice a coworker has the 5 AD spoiler and the adhesive looks water damaged. Anybody know a good sealant that is not super permanent (like the 3M adhesive)? I was looking at these:

I pulled off the @wheeldude Stivo spoiler because the adhesive was terrible, it lifted after a month.
I plan on either selling it or trying a much higher quality adhesive the next time

I use silicone to seal gaps and spoiler holes all the time. Rips off with some pressure (not permanent) and does the job. In your case I will try this in combination with 3m double sided adhesive.

I got mine at an autoparts store (O'REILLY Autoparts) but I am sure you can get it at a hardware store. What I looked for was any clear silicone. I believe I used the RTV gasket maker rather than the adhesive. I am sure both work fine. The adhesive might be harder to remove. The one I used could be removed easily with a rag and not much effort.
I think the link you posted will work perfectly with what you are working with. I am also local so if you need any advice/ an extra hand feel free to shoot me a PM. I could probably find some silicone I have laying around and give it to you. |
