Had an awesome track day with the Houston 86 Club - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

I just wanted to say that I had an awesome trackday yesterday. The lotus club hosted the Houston 86 Club and we all had a blast. I'm in the white FRS with green headlights.

Thanks Ryan for making sure this event went off. Thanks to Paul from the Lotus Club as well.

Here are a couple videos. I think I have one more somewhere.

First one I was using Trackmaster and RaceRenderer (free edition). I do need an external GPS.

Top mount intercooler wouldn't let temps get over around 240F. After 22 laps on the last session, the only thing smoking were the brakes.

I have to check fluids and the Borla header. I did notice a slight rattle so I thought while going through a drive through today.

Not that I don't enjoy modifying my car, but its worth noting that one of fastest FR-S out on the track was bone stock other than michelin pilot super sport tires in the stock size. We were all amazed how well the car did with completely stock brakes and suspension. The driver was very skilled and in the right hands can turn some very fast laps.

Just goes to show you can really have fun with with the platform with very minor modifications.

The car is very capable in the hands of someone who's experienced / talented. He did note that the brakes were being pushed which I don't doubt.

The only other time I have run the vehicle is at TWS. Pretty good brake fade off of turn 1 and turn 3 with stock pads / fluid. Didn't seem too bad this time with fluid and Hawk Ceramic pads. I'm sure the guys running the Essex AP kits enjoyed those.
