Winter inquiry

So I hear that Washington doesn't allow Studded Tires, and they also apply gravel to their roads as apposed to Salt. Is all of this true? If so is there a way to get the state to pay for repairs, such as minor dents and paint chips from the rocks, THEY(the State) allies to the roads?

Here in Oregon I believe it's the same. But what's the difference between chains and studs...

Yep, you can still use studded tires in Washington, during certain times of the year.

I have seen sand applied but not gravel.

Good luck with getting the state to pay for any repairs to your car.

Thanks for serving our country ......

I agree with @Marchy, good A/S tires is all you need in these parts ..... if you stay out of the mountains.

Well Some of us aren't well off enough to have a second car for such occasions. But one of these days I will be there.

I'm not gonna lie, that is true. I did that in my old legacy gt. Yeah, that hit the curb hard, broke the whole suspension on the passenger side. Not pretty.

Remember when driving in ice, drive like a turtle. If you are doing hooligan stuff, do it an an empty parking lot.
