Scion 10 display stopped working.

I didn't want this display to begin with, but now that I know it stopped working, I'm pissed. The wife asked me to show it to someone over the weekend and I couldn't get it to work. The switch under the steering column has no effect.
The speakers were all recently upgraded along with the wiring. Could a connection in the dash have been knocked loose? I checked the back of the panel and it looks fine, at least as far as I can tell. Before I start ripping into the dash looking for the source of the problem, I'd like some idea as to where to start looking. Does anyone know where the connections are and the best way to get to them?

The passenger side dash pops right off (it's clicked in place, just give it a gentle tug forward from the bottom), and you can check the crimp connectors that power the electro-luminescent strip easily that way.

Do your badges etc. still light up?

Everything else still works. I've already pulled the panel and it looks fine.
