Remote Start W/Smart Key

I have a BRZed with prox key. I am about to make an attempt to install a SmartStart. There is a slight catch here though. I do not want the car to act ANY DIFFERENTLY than if the car was from the factory and the car was OFF when I got to it.

When the BRZed is started (smart key) the key fob and any sense buttons on the handles of the car are deactivated. This is a problem because if I were to start the car with my remote start, when I got to the car there would be no way for me to get in. Key fob wouldn't unlock the door, sense buttons wouldn't unlock the door. Unless I took my phone out of my pocket, opened the app, clicked unlock, waited 15 seconds for it to work, and then get into my car. Or carry around another key fob which I DO NOT want to do.

So here is my question:
Has anyone figured a way or know how to keep the body control module? (if that is what controls these functions) awake and alive while the car is started? Is this function on the CAN system?? Is there any way around it??

Getting the car to start is the easy part.. all the other stuff might not be so easy. I WILL accomplish this somehow, and when I do I will let everyone know how, but I was hoping someone may have already figured this out.

Thanks in advance

i highly doubt it. i think the "simplest" way would be to use a completely different system for push to start/keyless entry/remote start. unless you know how to hack the module that does this and update/hack the firmware somehow to allow what you're asking to happen, but that's just my unprofessional opinion.

Are we sure that is what it is going to take. Are these functions, for sure, controlled by firmware? I have a schematic of the car but haven't had a chance to look at it. I'll try later this evening.

BRZed? Like it used to be a BRZ, but now it's not? Or maybe some other car that has been BRZ'ed? Like a Civic with BRZ emblems, maybe. Or is that some trim I'm not aware of? The BRZ Ed Edition.

Sorry for the confusion. BRZ. In Canadia aka Canidon't aka Canada and other parts of the world they say "zed" for the letter z. So I started calling our car the B. R. Zed. And I am just playing. Canada is a great place I just like to poke fun.

It's Breeze. And when the STi version comes out, it will be the Breeze Stee.

lol lots of us still prefer to use 'Zee'. BRZed messed me up, anyway...

I'm also interested in a starter for my car w/smart key. But it sounds like that's a serious problem. Maybe a compustar system is the only way to go (with a separate key fob).

I don't have a smart key, just the standard key fob, but I wish I could do the same as well, it's extremely annoying that when I start the car using the remote starter the key fob doesn't work at all so I can't use it to lock the doors or pop the trunk, I can unlock the doors by holding the button on the remote starter's fob for several seconds, but no way which I can pop the trunk so I have to unlock the doors, open the door, lean in and hit the trunk release button on the dash and then open the trunk which is irritating.

I think I may have found the key to the city. http://www.carboncarsystems.com.au/v...ubaru-brz.html this is an alarm made by DEI which ties into the CANBUS system of our car. The alarm is controlled by the factory key fob. It should also retain all functions for remote start functions. I am going to make a few phone calls tomorrow to verify but the best part about it is.... ITS ONLY $50!!! I'll let everyone know what I find out and I might do a DIY as well. Because it's a CANBUS alarm you really only have to tie in to 4 or 5 wires. STOKED!!!
