A local Toyota dealership jacked my car up.

I took my car into RK toyota in Hampton to get some issues looked at. The list is below.

Rough idle
car has died twice in neutral
crickets
window is making a popping sound
car backfires
Car wont shift into 2nd well up or down.

The performance mods to my FRS; J2 exhaust, Injen intake and innovate wideband welded into the stock header.

I know the rough idle was caused by the Injen intake and the car shutting off at a stop in neutral was related so I removed the intake. I put the stock intake on and after resetting the ECU and letting it relearn I still had a rough idle.
SO I took the car in, They had the car for about 10 hrs.
They said my VIN did not fall under the reflash group. that there were no codes on the ECU. They then said that the rough idle was caused by a a damaged 02 snsor that had hit something.
I went out to my car and opened the hood. Both my upstream and downstream o2 sensors looked brand new. No impact marks.

SO I started the car up and immediately I noticed my car was much louder than normal. Assuming it was a could start I drove it home but the car did not get quieter. So then I lifted the car up and what do you know. Who ever drove my car bottomed it out in a pot hole or in the shop and smacked the crap out of my wideband 02 sensor. Now the car idles like complete crap. I plan to remove the wideband and weld the header late this week and see if it helps.
It makes me mad that whoever drove it;

a. thought that the wideband was stock
b. damaged my car and blamed it on me

I have had the crickets replaced (High pressure fuel pump) once and they wont replace it again.
I did not buy my car with this issue and it makes the car sound like crap.
I wish they will find a real solution.

Also they disabled all of my TPMS sensors at the dealership. WTF that makes me mad.
I only know this because I swapped my wheels again with another set I have in the garage. The paper they gave me said there was a tpms code stored. So apparently they just disabled it. great.

Toyota does not know how to work on this car.
I have so mch I want to do to this car but I am always worried about the issues toyota cant fix. They couldn't find solutions to any of theother issues i mentioned.

The fuel pump I can understand them not wanting to replace again, because it's only a temporary fix to remove the crickets. I thought I got lucky with my car but literally right after my break-in period ended and I pulled into my driveway after my first spirited drive the crickets attacked. I was pretty upset but there's nothing that can be done right now.

I'm not going to bring up the fuel pump issue to my local Subaru dealer until there's a confirmed 100% permanent fix for the pump (preferably a part # for the pump as well) because I don't want to waste anyone's time.

The rest of it though, that sucks man.

They told me the same thing about not replacing the fuel pump. Call up Scion and make a complaint telling them there is a new fuel pump and part number to acompany the TSB revision dated 17 March. I got a call today saying they would change it.

It sounds like the wideband Lambda sensor was damaged before you took it in. Since it was already causing the rough idle with and without the aftermarket intake. Then when they reset the ECU it went to stock maps, making it run even worse.

My customer Josh just took his 10series FRS over to priority in greenbriar, and wrecked his car. They hit something in the front and then pulled it around hoping he wouldn't notice. I take my car to First Team Toyota/Scion on western branch blvd in Chesapeake. They are always really informative and polite. They do great work and won't wreck your car! Haha

The wideband was unhooked and I was running a stock tune. The goal was to monitor the stock AFR.

Take your car to Charles Barker Toyota. There's a member on this forum who used to have a red FR-S with Gram Light 57xtremes that works in the sales department, but I'm sure he could give you a few pointers on who to take your car to for service.

You are referring to Josh. Still a great guy, and still the place to go if you need help, despite selling. lol.

Uh how the hell did they expect a customer NOT to see damage to his/her own car???

1. It's impossible to disable the TPMS system. They didn't disable the system they deleted the code.
2. You had a rough idle before you went in. Your car was most likely damaged underneath before you brought it in, if it had the same rough idle before and after.
3. If you're going to put aftermarket parts on your car, don't expect the dealership to spend time trying to fix it for free.

Sincerely, A frustrated toyota tech
