Subaru BRZ is a midlife crisis car.
Hey, he didn't say the FRS...
http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/nis...7133/@ballaban Oh yes, he's doing this. 50-year-old man and Nissan executive vice president Andy Palmer is bringing the hurt. Let's hope he's got an industrial strength flamesuit, because this is going to be intense. When asked about the rear-drive sports car market, Mr. Palmer rhetorically asked, "Do we have any competitors?" But he's well aware of the latest offering from Toyota and Subaru, winning the hearts of auto journalists and consumers alike. "...the Subaru [BRZ]? It was a car designed for a 50-year-old. It’s for a midlife crisis. That’s not what we do.” Damnnn. He continued, "You’ll see the answer to the midlife crisis. Except it won’t be for the midlife crisis.”

Well in that case any rear drive sports car = midlife crisis car.
What does he consider the Z? It's too expensive to be a young boy racer car |

The 350Z & G35 chassis is the new 240sx here in Atlanta. Every young wanna-be dorifto are buying them as prices are dropping.

I don't understand why people have to hate like that. The Nissan guy should go, "hey, that FR-S/BRZ/86 is a nice car that has given us something to have a friendly competition with. We welcome the chance to step our game up." Instead he takes the childish route.
Competition breeds excellence and sometimes, unfortunately, contempt. |

OMG that concept is ugly. It's like the evil progeny of a threesome between a Juke, a 2000s T-bird and that ugly pussed Pontiac solstice thing.
FWIW, one of the things I really like about my BRZ is the rear side window shape. It's very 240Z. Nissan needs to get back to roots. |

I thought the 350z/370z was more of a midlife crisis car.

I'm seeing (noticing?) a lot more young women driving around in 86s around here lately. And haven't seen an old guy in one yet.
