Question Car Covers ?

I know I am jumping the gun here, but
when I consider that I have to park the vehicle outdoors
(sometimes) I am thinking a CAR COVER, and thus far I am
unable to find any car cover specific to the BRZ.

Will a car cover that fits on the Impreza hatchback
work the same ? or should I wait it out ?

Wait it out for a custom fit cover it makes all the difference. I would expect multiple companies to have covers available within a month or two of release.

Someone will make a custom-fitted cover. Just wait a while

I thought a read a comment on this forum about how car covers can scratch the car, but searched and could not find it.

Any thoughts or experience with this?

car covers scratch cars that have dirt on them or if the inside of the cover has dirt on it, car covers are ment to be put on in good weather right after a car wash or in a garage to protect it if anything were to fall off a shelf and splatter something on it or to protect it from the doors of other cars in the garage

I covered my S2k daily for 6 years. Never any scratches.

I covered my Ferrari 308 anytime it was outdoors and one time it got some terrible scratches vertically all over the drives door from the cover. It was a windy day, the cover was lightly flapping against the side of the car, and some sand had gotten blown in between the two. It took me a couple hours with a polishing wheel to remove them.

I'd recommend covering your car. The advantages far outweigh the risks from my experience assuming you're actually the type of person that doesn't mind spending a couple minutes every time you park putting the cover on. If that's not you, don't waste your money.

Cal Car Covers are fantastic, they'll have one that's custom fit as soon as these cars are on the road.

To avoid scratches, you absolutely have to make sure:
  1. Your car is relatively clean to begin with. Otherwise, dirt and other particles underneath the car cover may scratch.
  2. Your car cover fits your car snugly. Otherwise, a loose car cover will simply move all around your car, causing scratches. Anything like dirty already caught underneath the cover will now only compound the problem.

That antenna sticking out on the roof will not work well with a car cover.
