Microsoft Surface
A few months ago I got my son a Microsoft Surface Pro for his use while at college. I always thought that the iPad was the ultimate tablet, but after using the Surface I'm now thinking about getting one for myself. I already have a laptop so I'm thinking about getting the Surface RT.
Does anyone use, or know of an app for the Surface like the Torque App for Android devices? If a decent app exists, this will seal the deal for me. I've been using EngineLink on my iPhone, but I really want/need logging capability. Help me part with my money

Right now there are a bunch of new Windows 8.1 tablets coming to market with Intel's new Bay Trail CPU. So far announced tablets have 8" screens with very nice IPS panels for a wide viewing angle. Look for the Lenovo Miix8, Acer Iconia W4, Toshiba Encore, and Dell Venue Tablet. There are supposed to be 10 models available by Xmas. These will run full windows programs (not just apps) and retain nearly all the benefits of a Windows RT device (like the Surface RT).
Next will be to install the full version of Dash Command by Palmer Performance. This uses your OBDII connection logs and displays data like Torque for Android & iOS. Please check for system requirements. This is available for all major operating systems. Lets see your Windows version when you're done (if you beat me to it).[ame="http://youtu.be/3ikwIQfkV98"] Tons of youtube iOS vids[/ame]. |

I would definitely lean more towards an iPad or an Android device on this one.
Something like a Nexus 7 1st or 2nd generation would be PERFECT for what you are trying to accomplish. /2c |

Hey Gary,
Funny I was thinking of a similar idea, but I want to do more of a permanent install with the nexus 7. In fact I think I have a way of doing an install with the nexus 7, and keeping the stock head unit. That way you can run torque and still run music through the head unit. Message me if you want to hear my idea, its not ready for the limelight jus tyet.
