What is this Windshield number / code

Can anyone tell me what is this number in the windshield? You can only see it when view at a certain angle and it is on the lower drivers side. My car is a series 10, but I do not recognize the number. I tried to see if it can be removed through washing the windshield, but it seems to be ingrained into it. You can not see it when driving or look at it straight on ... only at an angle.

I don't know what it might be for, but it's probably wax marker, guessing it'll come off over time. If you do try to scrub it off don't use anything abrasive, I've got some small swirl marks from trying to get a residue off of my windshield.

RainX makes a cleaner that works great. A clay bar is another option I've heard positive reviews about.

I have tried windex and clay bar ... still there. In fact, they did absolutely nothing! The numbers seem to be in the windshield.

It is not a big deal because it can not be seen unless really looking for it or if the windshield has condensate on it and you look at an angle ... just curious about the number

Probably written as an easy to read ID during shipping so it can be unloaded and routed to your dealer quickly. Mine had it as well, was gone after the third or fourth hand washing.

OK ... I guess it will go sooner or later ... but with 1000 miles on the car, a couple of washes and a good windshield cleaning ... it seems firm

I believe you're right. Except "quickly" turned into a month long stop sale waiting for the Toyota IT wonks to generate accurate window pricing labels while the routing numbers etched into the glass at the POE's.

I've tried everything mentioned. Nothing worked, but it's only been three months and a half-dozen washes. Next I'll try Griot's glass polish and a machine buffer. If that doesn't work, I'll try to ignore it.

However, a little twist is that at my last track day they used shoe polish to write running numbers on the small side rear windows. I washed it off easily the next day but it's doing the same thing as the windshield effect so will hit all the windows with the buffer and hope for the best.

Got the same thing on my 10 series. Only saw it once, when it was foggy. I'm guessing it's some kind of marker that was removed but left something hydrophobic/oleophobic .. haven't tried buffing it out yet.

Buffing did not work for me ... so I'll just give it time. Here in FL the sun may do the trick after a few months.

Use bon ami powder and water. That should get rid of it. Bon ami is sort of the go-to windshield cleaning product for many manufacturers and businesses.
