Do you want one of those classic Yellow on Black, Black on Yellow or Yellow on Blue license plates?

Do you live in California?

Well, I am not sure if you are aware but DMV wants 7500 pre-orders ($50) by Jan 2015 and they will make them. There is a separate count of each kind and they need 7500 pre-orders each for them to produce it (Otherwise your money gets re-funded).

Yes, they will go in production after January 2015 given they meet the required number of pre-orders (7500). So like 1.25 years from now.

i put in a pre-order for a black one. it'll look better than white on my DGM car. hope they make their quota.

Ordered black ones (2x) when I first heard about (~beginning of the year). And it was an ~ $100 (new + renewal fee) each. I'm surprised with the population of Cal, they shouldn't need to wait so long for 7500. At this point, I feel I just donated that money to the state and if I get it, I get it. If I don't, I hope the state does well with my money. Well, we do have a nice new bridge that lights pretty at night. And what's with its sidewalk? Weren't they trying to outlaw jumping off the GG.

Just ranting b/c of caffeine rush 8-)

Anyone else seeing a blank page at the site? I see the DMV background and menu, but everything about the legacy plates pre-order has disappeared

I think that the 7500 threshold has to be for any one of the plates, not collectively.

Q16: How many pre-orders does the DMV need to receive in order to initiate the production of the Legacy Plates?
A: The law enacting this plate program (AB 1658, 2012) allows until January 1, 2015 to reach the required minimum 7,500 pre-orders for any one of the plate styles.

I would like to have the blues for my 83 supra, since I lost my set when I moved the car to IA.
