Scion FR-S Tour of Sierra California
Scion FR-S Tour of Sierra California
September 20th~22, 2013 A year and a half since the FR-S launched from Scion. There are now enough friends, enough trust, enough energy, and enough enthusiasm to form many pockets of friends among owners. We’ve taken ours on a journey for 3 days, into the high Sierras, and came back as even better friends, and all because this one car started us all. Special thanks to our sponsors for this trip: RS-R USA, Cusco USA, WinMax USA, and Falken Motorsports, as well as Scion Public Relations.

Quote:
Because the very man who designed these wheels, is also the man who took the Toyota Celica to many victories under his own personal cash, funding a works team under Tom's and constructed with DOME. He also penned the beautiful lines of the beltline of the Original TA22 Celica, and the RA27 lift-back, as well as TE27 Corolla Levin. He campaigned the Toyota 7 as a privateer, worked with HKS in the early days to form the foundation of Japanese tuning industry as we know it today. He also backed and sprung forth cash, or resources, connection for those who came up his firm, and decided to part ways to open their own shops, some of which became SSR, WORK, HKS, ENKEI, RSR, 5 Zigen, WEDS, TRUST, and is a highly regarded members at board of advisors are DOME, Super GT, JTTC, BMI, ADAC, etc...He also pushed for the modification of the RA40 to have the inline 6, which became the MA64. So in short, with none of the elements of what he did in the Japanese automotive industry, the username you sport as "Supra" and the "FR" platform to which it sits... None of those would exist today if it wasn't for Mr.Hayashi. And maybe less insult is in order for something which he designed for the sake of a racetrack, and it was his interest in supporting and drawing up something different on the Toyota 86. He made these wheels to commemorate his own tradition, heritage, and passion, currently in his 70's and still being passionate about cars. You may think its ugly, but there is a whole history behind it that spans a period that's double your age... I too have my preference, but I refrain from insults on things like the Mercedes SLR, and Bugatti Veyron, as well as Gotti wheels and BMW Istetta, Lamborghini Espada, or Lotus Cortina, and 1st Gen Ford Escort... Because there are also a long history behind the men who penned them and made history on things that we consider benchmark as well. He's a race car designer, car tuner, deep enthusiast for all things mechanical, and spent half a century ONLY chasing his passions, so Be nice, please.

Funny you should say that because there were actually 3 Black FR-S in the group haha. They probably just didn't make the pictures. Official count was 3 Black, 3 Red, 2 White (Mine included) and 1 Blue. |

Those were some brave men. I need to update my profile. I have a black FR-S now and love it but GOOD GOD getting into it when it's 80* outside sucks.

maybe its the age and that I'm now im my 30's but I really appreciate retro style rims. In fact I prefer them more than new modern wheels. |
