A/C pulley or something related :)

Im having this very weird issue with my car now. First time this happend my car was sitting for a day or 2 without being turned on, i go turn on my car and let it warm up then hop in and as soon as i turned on my fan(ac) i heard a pop or something snapping and then the ac goes on ( i doubt its the DI pop). i was worried but said meh maybe something was jammed and all is good now, but it wasn't. Today i parked my car for about 12 hours and same process i turn on the car and leave it to warm up hop back in and i drove out of the garage and as soon as i shifted into first i remember i didn't turn on my ac . car was doing about 10 miles or so and i was still on the gas lightly and as soon as i turned on my ac the rpm's stuck in place for half a second and it was the same sound. it felt like because the car did not like it at all its like something yanked on the belt or so.

the chances that i can re-enact this to a dealer is very slim and im lost with what could solve the issue ?

hmmmm.......my first thought is that you are just experiencing the normal effects of the AC compressor tugging on the system.

My second thought is that the serpentine belt tension pulley is not doing its job and allowing too much slack and when the compressor comes on line, the belt whips a bit.

My third thought is that the AC compressor is failing (trying to freeze up) and jolting the system when it engages.

I would suggest that you stand over the engine and have someone else cycle the AC, to see (or hear) if you can determine where the sound is coming from.

I hope you get it sorted out.
