<shrugs>

Compared to...? I never rode with an SPL meter, so I can't give you an actual number.

I really like it, but I'm selling the car, so...I guess the best thing I can say is "I'd buy it again" if I had another BRZ.

There's no rasp at all; the underbody muffler design with lots of tailpipe makes the tone pretty mellow. It's not what I'd call objectionable; I'd be surprised if it's louder than 'street legal'. Sounds like the car should have, stock, IMO.

It doesn't drone but it does highlight the resonant frequency of the cabin - with the windows up, it's right at 2K RPM. It builds in volume from about 1600, then disappears instantly above 2000. I thought it was the exhaust resonating, but then when I put the stock system back on I can hear it there too, it's just really really subdued. And anyway, 2000 RPM doesn't correspond to any speed I drove for any length of time.

No idea. I've never heard any other aftermarket exhaust on these cars.

Thanks for the kind words!

I'm moving to...something. Don't exactly know what though.

I chose the BRZ in large part because I thought it would be nearly perfect as a commuter car for me. My office is about 30 miles away; the car gets great fuel economy, it's small and nimble and easy to park and navigate traffic. My two older kids are in college now, so it's just me and a 13 year-old at home - plenty of room for that.

However...there are some things I don't like - the torque dip is a big one, the crappy paint is another (it's the softest paint I've ever seen, the softest towels scratch it). And I've had some less than desirable experience with my dealer's service department.

The kicker is, last month I started telecommuting. So the two main reasons I chose the BRZ over other cars no longer apply. I can either replace it, or just sell it, and either way I get rid of a couple headaches.
