In the one month and week I've owned my car, there have been more instances of debris and rocks hitting the FR-S than there were in 7 years of driving my previous car.

This car is a magnet for debris. Enough to make me drive no more than 60-65mph on most highways.

You will get used to it. The windshield can take alot more than you think.

The paint is VERY cheap on this car... chips easily.

I shake my fist in anger at all trucks with uncovered beds spewing their loads all over the highway! I don't get on the highway to get my car sandblasted

Also, I've cleaned up bird crap after it has sat for only 2 minutes. Ate through no problem, permanent stain in the clear/base

Anyways, I say wait until spring (if you are going to drive the car in winter).

It would bother me enough to get it fixed. I would fix, and get the front clear-bra.

I completely agree. Paint is super soft and these cars are a magnet for rocks. The bird stain on yours will just take a little polish and elbow grease. It'd probably be a good idea to invest into a dual action polisher for the future. I die a little inside when it happens to mine.

I actually plan on wetsanding the whole car and putting a coat or two of clear on there... get rid of the orange peel (mirror finish after buff!) and beef up the protection on the paint at the same time. Probably during winter.

I know we all want our cars to look perfect but that's only gonna happen if they stay parked in a bubble. Here's to many enjoyable miles, and over time if you get some blemishes/marks, well it's not the end of the world. :happy0180:

I'm used to off roading where i'd drive into the bushes to avoid a rock.. stuff doesn't bother me to much.. My dad was driving the car on vacation and bent the side skirt, yesterday i just nicked front bumper pulling off ramps and now i just noticed the gas attendees dented my car pumping my gas of course being my first car i'd like it to stay nicer but stuffs going to happen

Yesterday on I-45 coming out of Milwaukee I was behind a guy with a crappy old projection tv in the back of his equally crappy truck. I was a bit back and the plastic screen on the tv shattered and sent pieces flying all over the road and through the air. I didn't have anyone around me so I juked around that junk. Why risk the damage? Especially seeing as how I'd be in a confrontational mood if I would have gotten my car scratched up.

It would bug me too, but normally after a few weeks I kinda just will forget about it, not because I do not care but because I know if I do not I will stress over it. Just remember, that is SO minor that the only person that will be bugged by it, truly, is you.

Just realize you WILL fix it eventually, so do not stress out over it :] Your car is in one piece

The first scratch/scrape is always the worst. It's bound to happen to a car that's driven especially with such a low vehicle. You'll learn to live with it and the car will still get compliments.
