Losing Coolent

So the other day i went to the dealer to get an oil change done as i watched them they called over a few mechanics and started looking a little into my car under the engine.. After it was all done the service manager notified me that the Coolant reservoir was empty but the rad still had coolant. He said that it may have never been toped up or that it may have evaporated. He told me that they didn't have any of the blue coolant and to come back the next day to refill the tank. When I went outside to check the tank the level was below the low marker.

The next day I came back and they refilled it and they said to keep an eye on it. The next day I popped open the hood and took a look and the level was already 1/4 of the way below the full marker. I will be going back to the dealer tomorrow morning but any input would be appreciated

- no leak
- no noticeable white smoke

Thanks guys

I just added some coolant into the reservoir today and filled it back to Max. It was at the low line.

Hopefully this is after the car is up to operational temperature... because that overflow reservoir will literally overflow if you added more when the engine is cold.

It stays just above the Low line when the car is cold, but after I drive it for a while it goes to about 75% full.

You haven't said anything about finding a leak. Or white smoke in your exhaust.

Hmm.

Then, the question is: Is it sucking in some coolant because there was air in the system? If so, the level should stabilize before long.

Note: It is not unusual for coolant reservoir levels to fluctuate from winter to summer to winter, etc.

That's acceptable... If it were up to me, I would probably add some coolant in until it's just slightly over the Low line when cold and monitor it.
