Removing AC Vents?
Anyone know how to get to the vents? I'm going to be re-doing my interior soon, since I'm running with a red theme. Here's a quick photoshop I've done.
![]() I know how to get the front/radio dash off, and the handles, but I haven't seen a write up for the vents. Any idea? |

Yeah, I think there's 3 clips, just use a small flathead with electric tape on it so you don't scratch anything.

I just think painting interiors in anything that's not a shade of grey, black, or silver just looks terrible, but you might as well do it right.
Stick your finger in the vent, and grab around from behind, and pull it out. When it's out, there's tabs that you can gently lift to pop the trim ring off of the vanes. When that's out, if you look at the inside, there are tabs you can gently separate that will remove the silver trim ring from the black trim ring, so you can paint them separately.

You just pull the whole vent out then you can see the clips on the sides that hold on the rings. Super easy. Just know that they only go back in one way, keep turning until they pop back in.

As others have stated, they simply pull out/off.
I just did my interior in white (to color match), for the AC vents, door handles, steering wheel trim, shifter surround, and AC pillars. I originally wrapped everything in a brushed aluminum vinyl, but there were SO many tight compound curves that it just looked bad in some places and drove me crazy. The dash panels and uprights are easy, but the AC trim and shifter bezel suuuuucked. I really wish you luck wrapping those! Personally, I ended up not liking the white, and have the AUDM black pieces on order from Amayama. The white was too bright/distracting, and conflicted too much with the red/black theme I have with the JPM pieces and stock colors. Hopefully you'll like the red more than I liked the white! |

2 torx jolts on the edge over the HVAC controls. At that point haul the base up and out. There is a spread over the torx jolts, simply pull down on it to expel it and access the jolts.
