*PICS* Seibon FA carbon hood installed
easy install.
some fitment issues. the right side has about 1mm more gap than the left. and the hood slopes down more than the fender/headlight. came with a chip in the clear coat in the hoodscoop. ![]() ![]()

Despite the issues, I think it looks great. Would be even better if painted to match, and left the trim around the scoop to show carbon fiber. I assume there really isn't a whole lot of weight savings from stock hood?

Its about the same weight. There are other threads where people weighed them and the new hood is 2 lbs lighter. AFAIK, Seibon hoods are just for cosmetic as they have a fiberglass core.

I keep waiting for someone to get this hood and then rock a TMIC to take advantage of the air inlet.

Looks good!
Does weather concern you with the vents? I would assume it's not a good thing to have water drizzling into your engine bay. Is there something I'm missing here?

Are there alternatives to Seibon as a company? Just curious. A healthy market often has many competitors.

the only other CF hood I have seen was from a company called first molding, and I wasn't impressed with the design.
