about to drop 70lbs from the rear...suspention help

Assuming my muffler delete arrives by 1:30 today ill be installing it along with ditching everything from the trunk today. This is going to throw even more weight distribution up front. Is there a way to modify the car/suspension to make up for the now 60/40 split?

rs*r super down springs lower the rear about 5 mm more than the front, that would help. one of those light weight batteries would help too.

OEM Axleback is only 26lbs. The deletes are 3lbs generally so you're only taking 23lbs off. I did the same and autocross heavily. The 23lb different in balance doesn't make a real difference.

Wouldn't suggest driving around without the spare and tools for just a few pounds off... first time you need it, you'll know why hahah

If I mess with the battery ill probably just relocate it in the trunk. I think that would help even more

The spare and stuff in the trunk are close to 40lbs as well iirc

It wont help much. Further, you'll be adding 10-15 pounds of cables.

A 3 lb LiFePO battery up front will be lighter than anything you can put in the trunk. Lighter weight is more important than moving a few pounds here and there. Just the cables for running a battery from the trunk will be heavier than a light battery.

You seem to have a desire to add weight, just fill up the gas tank. Want more weight than that? Fill it up with E85 (more dense than regular gas).

I have intention to have balance or a suspension to make the car drive as if it was more balanced is all.

Do you have any current suspension mods?

How do you plan to use your car? Any auto-x or track time?

What kind and what size tires do you run?

Fully stock everything except lighting at the moment
Will take to the track once Im satisfied with street performance.

I read 1 post where somebody shed 82 pounds doing what Im doing but the official report is 50-60 pounds. I just split the difference and said 70.

The difference is not super huge but it is something to think about.

For street performance a simple spring upgrade will do you fine. Our RCE Yellow springs along with Swift and Eibach prokit are popular and work well. Avoid springs that lower the car too much. For you, our RCE Yellow springs might work the best since we have a firmer front rate than everyone else and slightly softer rear. 20mm drop and we include replacement shortened bumpstops. If you get Swifts, go for the BRZ spec.

If you want to go fairly low, I'd recommend coilovers. For your uses our RCE Tarmac Zero or KW Variant 1 would fit the bill nicely. Good ride quality and performance as well as excellent durability. I don't think you necessarily need coilovers...but if you really want to go lower OR you want a little extra performance, they will make a solid improvement over springs (at a bit more expense).

You can still get great performance out of a good set of springs and a good alignment...many on here have been tracking their car happily with just that.

They let you autox with a muffler delete? All the ones I've been to require mufflers.

OP: It might be best to start with just the muffler delete, and removing the spare tire, then see how you like it before taking out all the carpeting/etc. IMO the car is already tail-happy enough lol
