weight distribution

for those interested, i got my car corner weighted on Saturday and here are the results.

(figures in boxes are without driver, figuers outside the boxes are driver included)

My 86 (Australia spec manual GTS, not 100% stock with full size spare and 65% fuel) is 1354kg/2985lbs with me in the car (1278kg/2817.5lbs without).

54% vs 46% front to back, 51% vs 49% right to left. Cross is also 51% vs 49%.

I'm particularly happy that front left vs right are pretty much even with me in the car 27.2 vs 27.1. maybe getting a lighter battery and me losing some fat will bring down the front bias a little bit lol

I had to get my BRZ weighed at an approved weigh bridge as part of getting an engineer's certificate. With spare wheel and approximately 1/3 tank of fuel the car weighed in at 1200kgs +/- 5kgs. I have carried out a little weight saving but I have no idea where your extra 78 kgs comes from.

It happens when you give a fat chick a ride in your car.

weigh gain:
extra fuel = 15kg
coilovers = 2kg
bushing/inserts = 2kg
booster seat = 5kg
heavy ass gear knob = 1kg (including stock and TRD gearknob i carry on the car)
heavier wheels/tyres = 4kg
sat nav headunit = 1kg (these are heavy)
Owner manual and sat nav manual = 1kg
tissue box, garage door remote, sunglasses etc = 500g
brake stopper = 1kg
whiteline front and rear sway bar = ?? (these are heavy)
window tint = ?
rear lower control arm = ??
some sound deadening = ??
dirt = ?? lol

weigh saving:
engine sound tube = 1kg?
header back exhaust = 3-5kg?

Toyota Australia quoted 1275kg http://www.toyota.com.au/86/specific...s_86_GTS_Specs

Gts spec also comes with heated leather seats and hid projector bulbs and ballast. trim also comes with some extra pieces. That could account for some weight too.

Tony at Voltphreaks was very helpful with all my questions.

Corner weights are much more even than I thought they would be. Excellent.

Lol

I like to change my gear knobs randomly so I keep them in the car.

By the way I don't take 86 out to dinner. I hardly ever park it on the streets....

I've taken my car out to dinner once but conversation was lacking.
