I just recently scrape my driver side skirt and it also left a dent. I was being dumb and thinking lazy as I thought I could turn around in the entrance of a closed parking garage and there was a safety barrier. Any help would be great. The other side also got scraped a little but I think I can use rubbing compound and it'll be good? I also pondered the idea of getting an aftermarket side skirt that can be placed over it... I'm a noob

Sorry to hear. Rubbing compound won't do much more than clean the wounds. The wounds will still be there. There will be a need for body work. Find a reputable body shop in your area and get their opinion on cost. A lot depends on your financial situation and your driving past whether you want to get your insurance company involved or not. Either way it's going to cost some big bucks.

They are gonna need repaired. The rocker area (below the door/before the rear wheel) should take priority. That left alone will set you up for some nasty rust post Winter.
At minimum paint over it with a rattle can and hit the backside using some rust proofing and a 360 spray wand (Trans-star Amber rustproofing can be found special order at O'rielys.) Then place some side skirts over it. (5:AD or S-Craft should cover it nicely.) Just keep in mind if ever reselling. Onother option would be to have it repaired but not 'correctly painted.' Meaning have them tape off that lower section which will leave an ugly tape line. Then cover it up with the side skirts. The benefit being you know the area will be flat (so the skirts will sit flush) and safe from rust. The repair cost will be cheaper this way as they aren't painting the bumper and quarter panel (and any blending they may need.) |

Was it $400 for the rocker panel/side skirt area dent? I got one of those today after curbing my passenger rear wheel. So mad at myself.

Something similar to this just happened to me except the scrape goes all the way down the side skirt.... Can't wait for a quote on that one

So I had a friend who dented my rocker panel and I was crushed, thought it would cost a good thousand or two bucks to fix.
But the FRS rocker pannel is soft as shit. I was able to get it bent back to 95% with Paintless Dent Removal. The first place I took it too said it was impossible, I checked other PDR place and the guy there said he could try but couldnt garentee anything, but at least he was gonna try. Right after he started he was like, oh I can get this 95% of the way out for sure. 2 hours later he did! With zero holes drilled! Cost 400 which sucked as I didnt even cause it, but brought my car back to life. I really cant even see where it was damaged anymore. Saved me from having to go through insurance and dropping the value of my car. So shop around and know that this area of the FRS is really soft and something that can be fixxed without breaking the bank.
