Exhaust Resonator

Quick question. I'm looking to remove my resonator from my Borla Cat back exhaust. I was curious to see if anyone has had any experience with this. I know there is a guy on here with the same exhaust that posted a video a couple of days ago, can't find that thread though. Should I take it and get it professionally done, or is it easy enough to remove on my own? I'm not clueless when it comes to mechanics, but I would really hate to mess up a $800 exhaust system.

Borla catback has a muffler in the midpipe, but no resonator that I know of?

You would have to cut that section of pipe out then re-weld a non-resonated pipe in. How are your welding skills?

I'm actually a robot welder for my job, so I'm pretty decent with welding I'd like to think. However, I do not own any welding equipment. I called a couple of places, I got some prices from $30-$58 to 'straight pipe it'. If I can do it myself, then I would.

Anyone else have any idea?

Is the Borla catback a slip-on midpipe connecting to the rear section? I think you're better off having a muffler shop fab you a new front section pipe of the exhaust, and attaching it to the rear half of the exhaust.

This way you can swap it back later on and not worry about resale value... hell, you can probably get more money since you have a custom "race only" front exhaust half.
