Springs? What wheels/tires, do you rub?
I'm interested in a mild drop at some point. I was thinking to go STi pinks for simplicity.
Please post what springs you are running, what wheel and tire size. Also camber if you know. And of course do you rub? |

The STI pinks are mystery spring rates. I know STI makes them and they are probably fine, I really don't like the idea of going with springs without knowing the rates on them. It makes it harder to plan additional mods, unless you're just going to guess and call it good. I would recommend RCE, Swift, or Eibach before the VERY expensive STI Pinks. Maybe if they were similarly priced I would be more interested...
Now as far as rub... I'm running a fairly large wheel and tire setup. 18x8.5" +45 offset enkei raijins for the front and 18x9.5" +45 for the rear. I am running Kumho Ecsta LE Sport wheels in 245/35/18 for the front and 255/35/18 in the rear. My springs are RCE Yellows. They handle great and were very easy to install. I've taken them to a few autocrosses and many back road runs, and RCE knows their suspensions. The wheels are almost perfectly flush, if that concerns you. I would personally go with a +40 offset in the rear if I were you. I had rubbing issues in the front with just crash bolt at -.09 deg of camber. To fix this, I installed the whiteline com-c top hats to give some additional camber and more clearance up front. This worked quite well and I am now at -1.2 up front with more than enough room to avoid rubbing. In the rear, I have had issue under VERY high g cornering with the parking brake guards rubbing. This only happens during certain curves in autocross, but it will be fixed soon. There is plenty of room to bend the brackets out of the way from what I can see. My rear camber settings are about -1.3 and have a slight toe-in set. Hope that helps. |
