P&L Header installed and rockin'!
I just put a P&L header (w/cat) on my BRZ. It, combined with my Unichip, ISIS exhaust (2nd cat delete) and Perrin overpipe, was really the thing to top off my present engine mods.
I'm still working on a perfect Unichip map for this combination, but the car has a noticeable amount of extra torque down low. I had an autox this past weekend and for the first time I was working more on controlling the back end of the car than the front. I've only done a few autox events, and in the past I've typically hit the corners too hot and fought understeer. Not this time! While I still hit some corners too fast, this time I really had to work to ease into the throttle a little more as the rear end was much easier to break out because of the extra power. I've put the results of the top times for the top three or four cars in each class next... |

I know you have a unichip and a catted header but did you get a CEL with the install?

I did get a CEL with two of the maps I was using. I'm trying two more maps this weekend and am having better luck. The car's just running too rich.
Also, I've communicated with Unichip Jack and he's going to help me out if these next two maps don't work out. Great customer service from them! |

How come you didn't try an o2 spacer?

Since I have the primary cat in position, it only made sense to me to have an O2 sensor and get a reading from the engine so that the ECU and the Unichip could tell what was going on and adjust for it.
And...it's been a good thing since it's running too rich most of the time. I'm working with Unichip Jack now to get her running perfect. |
