Door speaker mounting bracket help - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

I somehow found a company that was manufacturing speaker conversion mounting plates for 6.5 door speakers. The opening is too big to plug and play so they designed a bracket that allowed us to buy a regular over the counter speaker and mount in on their bracket and then mount into the door.

Cant seem to find the product or company.

Can someone help with this?

Can someone confirm that they are still selling these and that they work as advertised?

Also, can someone reccomend a decent 6.5 that would mate nicely with the factory head unit, a plug and play speaker that will match the wiring and amp. I think we have 2 ohm right?

That guy is a member on NASIOC. I think his sn is something like phenryv1 or something?

Anyways, shoot him an email/PM and ask him if he is selling them.

If you're going to keep using the stock door speaker amp then yes you will need a 2ohm speaker.

That limits you to pretty much either JBL or Infinity (both made by H/K) for mainstream speakers. Not sure about smaller niche manufacturers.

Ok cool, probably go with Infinity, still not sure but thanks for the info regarding the 2ohm speakers brands.

A 4 ohm speaker with a high sensitivity will sound cleaner and still be just as loud.

It is okay to use a 4 ohm speaker with an amp that is rated for use down to 2 ohms. You just don't use the amp to its full advantage.
The reverse is not so true. You can burn out an amp by making it push more current than it is designed for.
