Attended Scion celebration event last evening...

I usually don't go to these dealer events... Being that they are mostly sales driven.. But this was for people who recently bought a new scion, not looking for one. So I told the Wife, I was taking her out for a night on the town. Being married for 39 years now.. She was excited and confused by my enthusiasm to go out. Well she fell for it and when we pulled into the dealership, I got this dirty look and a "now what are you buying" remark..
Anyways.. They had their service area open with the service writers and mechanics all standing by to answer any questions about service and parts for scion and Toyota cars.
After many dirty looks from the spouse.. I sought out the FRS "specialists" and the service manager to ask some questions. Here's what I found out:

Are you guys mod friendly? Can I bolt on an exhaust and intake? Not TRD stuff either

No problem. As long as you realize those parts aren't covered if something goes wrong. Such as melting the rear bumper from a bad fitting exhaust.. Etc. or finding vibrations and noises caused by the mods.

How about suspension mods?

No problem.. But if you lower it and your tires wear badly, we will not be able to fix under warranty. Or cover the aftermarket parts involved or attached parts affected by the mods..

So far so good I say...

Any news on the HPFP chirping fix ?

Yes.. We have the new part and have them in stock.
So I mentioned the fix was not working for those who had it replaced via the forums. He told me that he hasn't had anyone come back after it was replaced!
Telling me even their service manager who's pump was replaced? Told me to bring mine in. I told him my VIN number was not included in the TSB and he said no problem, they would still replace it.. But I'm still skeptical. They said they have done many with none coming back?

I also asked about DI seals.. And mentioned some instances of owners having issues. He said to his knowledge, there have been no customer issues with seal failure and no bulletins regarding this issue.

I also asked about any other problem areas associated with these cars. He mentioned the tail light condensation issue.. But nothing else has been a problem for these cars so far..

I was glad I brought my wife along.. She ended up winning the raffle!
A TRD racing cap, 2 FRS T shirts, tool kit and a bunch of other crap..
Not a bad night on the town... Lol
