Auto Power full cage photos? Custom cage prices?

I'm trying to find photos of an Auto Power full cage because I want to see where and how it sits in relation to the dash. I've found lots of Cusco and Auto Power roll bar pictures, but that does me no good. I've seen Auto Power full cages in other cars, so I would imagine it would be pretty much the same in an 86, but I'd just like to confirm it. I'm also interested in seeing where the door brace(s) sit.

Alternatively, has anyone had a custom cage made that would mind sharing the cost? I'm sure it will vary a good bit based on the shop, but I'd still like to have a rough idea.

And is it possible to have a custom cage certified as safe by the racing/track organizations?

When you say custom cage do you mean custom bolt in or weld in? Since you mention the dash Im assuming you mean a full at least 6 point cage.

I have built many custom weld in roll cages for various racing bodies, SCCA, PCA, RA, BMWCCA, NASA. They all have rules that are largely the same but each have there own small details. Getting a custom cage certified is not hard if you follow the rules for each given group. Some like Rally America require you to bring the car with the cage and any safety gear to be looked over and given a log book. BMWCCA doesn't require this but you do need to have the car looked over by inspectors the same as any other car that goes around the track.

Are you doing driving events or actual organized racing because that also makes a difference in the requirements? driving days are often easier on requirements as long as what you have is deemed safe by the inspectors that day.

And I can't say this enough but I strongly advise against a bolt in roll bar or roll cage they are terrible and I personally would rather drive a car with out one. Same goes for a harness bar.

Weld in.

Well in that case, probably SCCA.

Driving events, but if I'm going to do such a permanent thing to the car, I'd rather it be ready to handle anything that might happen in the future, so I'd probably just go all the way with the racing specs unless they're absurdly inconvenient or costly.

I was just quoted ~$2,000 by my local place that's apparently very legit. He said that includes the design and everything.
