Ford offers free HPDE to Focus ST/Fiesta ST buyers

Great idea, Subaru. Get moving. (Scion's too broke to do this (check its sales figures for everything but the FR-S), but Subaru might be persuaded, although they hardly need to run a promotion like this right now given their sales demand).

I have a co-worker that bought a Laguna Seca version of the Mustang and with the purchase they got 2 track days for free (have to travel to some track in the SW though) where they teach you how to drive the Laguna Seca Mustang.

Ford is doing a lot of things right of late.

That would be awesome. Even Volkswagen sponsors a local track day at Summit Point called "Dub Deliverance". It's not free, but at $50, it's a good deal. Would be nice to see Subaru/Toyota do something similar.

Didn't Subaru used to do something similar when the WRX first came out? Something like a free SCCA membership for a year if you buy a WRX? I thought someone in autox told me about that.

So if Subaru did something like this and somebody's car broke, would they then deny the warranty because the car was "raced"?

they did. the '02 wrx came with a packet iirc that let you join the SCCA. I don't think I ever filled it out, because I wasn't as interested in actual racing, just street because I was an idiot.

Waytogo Ford! I am sometimes tempted to get a Mustang but the weight turns me away. Bring another sporty RWD manual-gearbox car to market. It does not need a big V8. Do a turbo 4 or 6! As long as it likes to rev, weighs under 2900lbs, and is priced like an FRS... it would be competitive!

Subaru is the least willing car company i've ever known when dealing with anyone was has taken their car to the track, and you think they are going to sponsor an event?

I dont know about subaru but the Honda guy next to my house told me to keep my lapping and events hush hush when I bring her to the dealer not to get my whole waranty voided by honda ! I dont think any car company will waranty a car on the track !

Also the Nissan GTR has its waranty voided if you break a part while all the stability controls are off (they apparently have a black box in the car to make sure of this)!!
