Cumberland Motor Club hosts the Loring AFB Mega Autocross! August 17-18, 2013

This is a huge event in northern Maine that serves as the highlight of Cumberland Motor Club's season. The club will set up over a mile long course on two fourteen-thousand-foot runways. Any and all car enthusiasts are welcome to come; there is plenty of room at this venue.

I've run two autocross days with the Cumberland Motor Club so far and they've both been awesome. The group is friendly to novices, sets up exciting but safe courses, and has a lot of experienced drivers with helpful tips. @mpicher is a long-time member of the group and will be there with his FR-S. I am also bringing my BRZ.

This event is always a blast. There's free camping at the site (no open flames), jam session going on Saturday night there too. There's on-site food from Knights of Columbus (breakfast & lunch).

For non-campers there's a group rate @ Caribou Inn & Convention Center.

Most of us are arriving on Friday and leaving Monday. It's a bit of a haul so the couple extra days make it less hectic.

If I get comfortable enough next spring/summer at Devens, I might join the fun at Loring next year
