Short answer: no.

Long answer: no. make up your own service interval based on your mechanical know-how. If you don't know (or rely solely on internet forums for advice), stick to the factory intervals.

You should still do the service because one its free and 2 alot of warranties become void if you dont maintain the schedule maintence. Its not say you aren't but they like seeing the service records so I would strongly suggest it.

I changed the first oil myself at 5k miles and took it to the dealer at 10k miles for the first service. They said my 2nd service is at 15k miles.

That doesn't sound right for the first 3 years maitence is free. Like tire rotation and oil changes. You're supposed to get the oil changed every 7500 by toyota's standards. I'd double check your scion care book before you listen to the dealership. On regular toyotas the maitence light comes on every 5k miles and every 10k miles you change the oil for the free maitence.
