Replacing the Scion FR-S seats
How many of you are planning on replacing the Scion FR-S seats. From the photos I've seen so far I think I'd like to replace them with BRZ limited front seats....no idea how much that will cost....or if I'd be better off just getting the seats reupholstered..... Any thoughts?

I definitely want the leather/Alcantara seats. Or if they come out with an all leather version later, I may go with that. I love the look, feel, and durability of leather. Suede/Alcantara grips well and feels alright but is harder to clean. Cloth does not give me a good feeling, is harder to clean, and it makes the interior look cheaper IMO. Hopefully these will be an option of some sort for the Scion. If not, I will have to look into having them replaced which may be a pain and expensive.

Just be happy that the scion will be cheap compared to the 86 everywhere else. They have to save some money somehow since the frs will prob be half the price of the 86 everywhere else.
Use and abuse the seats then slap on some leather or Sell the seats brand new and put some leather seats in. |

How 'bout you guys sit in the seats first before deciding to rip them out. If your only problem is cloth...then I'm not sure what to tell you. |

For you FRS owners, i am seriously doubting you many of you guys will swap other Zx6 OEM seats into your FRS. The seats are likely to make you happy regardless of the materials used.
For those replacing seats, its more likely for many of you to be going racing seats (ie; Bride, Recaro, Sparco, etc..), which might be more worth your money. Especially since the seating position is already low from the factory, im sure there are better options. Like what was said earlier..sit in the seat first and experience the car before making claims and modifications based on visual displeasure.

I'm just going to have them redone in leather with customer stitching and colors to make it pop.

I actually sat in the Limited and the alcantara/leather is great. I agree with the poster above who said just buy the BRZ. Most of the things the limited have I want and I don't want to buy a ton of stuff aftermarket.

I must be the old ball here. I personally hate leather seats. Too cold in the winter, too hot in the summer. Plus they're a pain in the ass to maintain.
