How long will you own your FRS/BRZ/86 for?

Posing a hypothetical question. As it is foreseeable for the Toyobaru to become an enthusiast/cult classic car like the Datsun 240z, Honda S2000 and Miata, how long do you predict you will hold on to your car for?

It is especially worth noting that we are in model year one still, and many cars like the S2000 and NSX have hit their prime not in year one, but a few years or generation down the road.

Personally, this is my first purchased car and I feel like Toyota and Subaru hit one out of the ballpark with their design. Yes it can be improved and evolve with time, but I have driven this around since Mile 1 (technically, mile 7) and it is something I would be hard pressed to ever sell.

People will argue they will upgrade to a Porsche, 'Supra', fabled RX-7, or anything in the $40-60K price range for that matter. But who says that is worthwhile, it'll be difficult to make a budget car with so much character. Mine will have a place in the garage, backyard, or shed for years to come. That is a bold statement to make 1 year into ownership.

Well i have no inspiration to sell mine even though ppl are saying that it's just a mid life crises car.
LOL - so this means that because i am 54 now , that i will live to 108.
So it will be interesting to see if the car ( or fossil fuel ) is still here in another 54 years.

Had my '85 MR2 for 15 years and then a '93 MR2 for 11 years. I expect to have my FR-S somewhere around 10-12 years.

Until gas-powered cars are banned by Obama early in his third term.

Note: There is a problem with this statement, I hope you know that, but I'm starting to wonder.

I will keep it as long as I can.

I still have a LGT that I can trade if the next big thing comes out.

At age 70 ..... I may trade it in for a Buick ...... (just kidding)!

I usually keep cars about 6-8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.....

I'll own this car for as long as I can. This is a great platform and as long as I take care of it I will have to see how long it lasts into my plans for the future.

Until an STi version is released with proper specs . I don't ususally keep cars more than 6-7 years, so we will have to see. Once the kids are out of the house I will be getting a Porsche Cayman...
