I feel these "auto journalists" are personally trolling me with the continued misconception of "prius tires" being used on the FR-S. First of all they're OPTIONAL performance tires for the JDM prius and not even available for the USDM prius.

Yeah, and apparently they don't know it's also on the BRZ?

That's because they get their info from here and then finished the articles before we had posts refuting the "prius" tire myth.

I just got my March edition so I haven't seen it yet.

Haha. At Motortrend they estimate the FRS at 25k and BRZ premium at 24k.

If anything, it should be vice versa.

Whether or not you like it, it's still accurate...and a big facet of the ethos this car has of attainable real-world fun. Curiously, the USDM Prius Plus package uses 215/45-17, however according to Tire Rack, they're similar but not identical tires to the FR-S.

And it should be noted that the S60 came in 2nd, wrapped in the inferior Primacy MXM4 rubber (215 width no less!) here:

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...n/viewall.html

So they aren't going to be a penalty box.
