JDM "conversion" ideas

Not sure if this is going to be considered lame or not, but is anyone planning on, or seeing if it's possible to do some JDM conversions with the Scion? Of course this would be super limited and hopefully cheap as in Badging?

Replace the Scion exterior badging with Toyota, or if there's a similar sized badge for TRD (assuming you have TRD parts, as not to "Type R" it up, like Hondas)

I'm loving the ducktail spoiler, but since it's a TRD JDM accessory, I imagine we'd need to import it, or find a tuner shop that would be importing them?

If the responses are "oh god why" then I'll shut up

There may not be a need to find 3rd party importers for JDM conversions for North American FRS. From my understanding most of the 86 TRD parts will be available to NA through TRD USA. Also badging might likely to be available via Toyota as well.

The only "JDM" item that I can see will be of interest for FRS users/community is the High-spec LED headlamp assembly. Which is likely you would need a importer to get that part.

Badging shouldn't be too costly, but the interior is going to cost a pretty penny along with the duckbill spoiler. Tbh, among the first modifications I'll be attempting to do are the 86 headlights. The question of whether the electrical harnesses and HIDs will be easy to install is still unknown.

I'd be so happy to make my car look exactly like the TRD model

Done (all in the order specified): JDM は YO、良さです。
Translation according to Google: The JDM YO, is good.

Unfortunately boring.

The only thing I may consider is swapping out the badges. It would should be simple. Odds are they are the same toyota badges as on some of the other vehicles meaning you could get them at your local parts counter. You would have to order the GT86 badge though. Im wondering if the badge on the steering wheel is glued on.

Depending on the pricing, I'd shop between Europe and Japan specs.

-Swap out the Scion steering wheel for an 86 steering wheel
-Swap out the orange front reflector for a clear reflector
-Swap out all of the exterior Scion badges for Toyota badges
-If possible/wait for the HVAC swap with a Toyota GT86

I wouldn't touch the steering wheel myself, there was a thread on one of the Mazda3 forums I frequent where one of the guys tried to pry off the Mazda emblem from his steering wheel, and the horn kept going off as he was working away on it, annoying his neighbours. I think he eventually disconnected the airbag sensor as well - it was an utter nightmare that led to everyone mocking him and the end result was just miserable.

He wound up using some sort of plaster or putty on the wheel to make it look nice again - yet if the airbag were to ever deploy... well... yea.

I would do the steering wheel if it was worth it, probably be a pretty penny though. His horn shouldnt have went off if he disconnected the battery which when dealing with the SRS system is probably a good idea

The badging is something I would do for sure I wish the FRS was selling through Toyota instead of scion to be honest (just never really cared for the scion brand). In addition to the side markers the amber is nasty (with the exception on maybe the red and orange models)

I don't know about "JDM"ing the car but I would definitely get that TRD duckbill and debadge the car whether it was a Scion or a Subaru. Other than that and a 1 inch drop or so I think I could be happy with the car as it is.

Well, I would be happy with it if it was priced at 23K or less.
