Reservoir Clamps/Mounts
I saw someone running what I was thinking of with a catch-can system. I'm looking for a mounting bracket to fix my strut reservoirs to my Password JDM side-brackets. I'd like something with a little padding to eliminate any rattle.
Anyone have an idea of where I can find something like this?

Some nice CNC brackets would go a long way to make that setup look insane.

If you welded two of these in the proper bore together that would look pretty trick. Maybe put two on each reservoir.
They are called "clamping collars". As per Orbital check Mcmaster.

So I used some cushion clamps from McMaster-Carr to attach mine mainly to the hole closest to the engine bay near the strut tower.
That secures the inside, on the outside MCS makes some small canister brackets which can be attached using either rivets or zipties. You ziptie the bracket and then it has another recessed hole to ziptie the canister. I got them with the shocks, but you can purchase them here: http://store.bimmerworld.com/mcs-mot...kit-p1925.aspx The cushion clamp is almost enough, I just used the bracket as standoffs to keep things from potentially rattling. There are a lot of canister brackets out there like you just mentioned which are a "figure 8" so to speak but nothing narrow enough to fit on our bars which is 7/8" and that looks even smaller. Not sure my setup would work with your fancy braces...since I think that's the way the R2s originally are attached. Unless you can put the part of the clamp which attaches under the bar. What's the diameter of the R2 reservoirs and the bar? Last edited by xwd; 07-15-2013 at 10:33 PM. |
