I have a WR Blue BRZ:
![]() My first mod cost me $0.40 and involves zip ties: ![]() My second mod (factory fog lights) was free because of a clerical error by the dealer on the paperwork: ![]() My latest mod cost $13 total, $9.75 at home depot for vent magnets, and $3.25 for a new pack of xacto blades: ![]() Grand total spent on my awesome mods: $13.40ish. I dare anyone else to beat that. |

I was going to tell you to let me know when you have a log set up, but there it is, right below mine. I kind of wish I had tried an event on the stock tires. No turning back now.
Have you used your magnets at an event yet? Working out? I got some "craft" magnetic sheets from Amazon and half of them blew off at the only event I used them. Finding decent magnets is a pain.

I've been using the same brand magnets (different designs) for 5-6 years on different cars. The only time they don't hold up is during heavy rain (or during a street survival instruction when you're getting blasted with water by a firetruck), so you gotta use tape. I have a set of "professional" magnets as well, but they don't match the car, which is what prompted the homemade LCD design:
![]() I'll probably get something like that made for the BRZ as well (once the C to E class debacle is solved), but the first purchase will be proper wheels/tires for next season. I'm thinking if the stock road tire class becomes permanent, I'll compete there. If not, then I'm not sure.

Yeah, I went ahead and bought the tires without realizing they might change. Just have to make sure I get to enough events to use them up.
I bet I'll end up doing an event or 2 on the stockers at the end of the season. The local regions don't care if you have the class on the car. Most cars don't.

The stock tires are definitely a fun experience. Although they lose grip about 1/3rd of the way into a usual course, they do a good job of not hiding your mistakes. Won't win you anything but a great learning experience. I'd recommend at least one event in them.
As for car classes, I just like stickers. They don't really care about the class and my number is pretty much permanent with the local clubs anyways.

So I got in a few small things in the mail. Color matches the fog lights to the headlights with LEDs, $6 shipped from China (stock bulb on passenger side and new bulb on driver side for comparison):
![]() And also this stubby thing from eBay for $12.50: ![]() Finally for today, a CG lock: ![]() Grand total spent so far, $62.

Digging the fog lights, have a link? I've just been leaving mine off.
And how's the CG Lock? I've always done the "lean back lock seatbelt" trick.

Here is a buy it now link for a relatively cheap bulb:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/H16-Pure-Whi...54b116&vxp=mtr $5 a piece ain't bad, but if you want to go lower you'd have to bid for it. Search "PSX24W LED" on ebay and there are a ton of bids starting around $2. The only problem is that the nubs on the housing are incorrect, so you have to shave off the single nub with a blade. In hindsight, I should have taken a picture of that too. I got the CG lock a few years back, for my AW11 MR2 where I couldn't use the "lean and lock" trick because the slack on the seatbelt was terrible. After driving around with it last night and this morning, it doesn't do much for the BRZ. I took it off a few minutes ago, I'll try it out at the next autocross and see if it's beneficial and let you know if it's worth it.

Sweet. I bet these fogs won't project as much light but with the HIDs they're pretty useless anyway. I'll be happy to have them match.
Sounds like the twins are staying in CS afterall.

Looking at Nationals results the twins are doing OK in C Stock. Maybe what they need is a top-tier driver behind the wheel to really know it's potential? It's like the GM Kappa cars, it took them a year or two to establish themselves in competition.
