New 10 Series FR-S Owner (long post)

Hi everyone, My name is Dustin Hall from Mississippi (aka Redneckville).
I wanted to fully introduce myself as I plan on being a very active member of this great forum. I have been lurking for the past week waiting on my account to activate and then finding the time to write this. (Already very interested in some of the group buys and the ESC thread.)

Anyways I knew the FRS would be my next car since the concept was released, and then decided to wait for the Series 10, which became mine on July 2nd. #226

here are a few pics I posted on instagram: @StatusLow

More about me and my history of cars:

I've been a Toyota fan boy since before I could drive one. My first baby was a 95 Celica (MT) years ago. It had a Caldina 3SGTE swap with a JDM MR2 LSD tranny. It only weighed about 2300 lbs, maybe less, and made close to 300 Hp. Needless to say it wasn’t finished. However, with my growing obsession with drifting, and the fact it was front wheel drive, the Celica project wasn’t meant to be.

After that, in 2005, I kind of tried to jump ship when I talked my wife (girlfriend at the time) into getting an 04 Mazda RX8 (MT) and after many builds and rebuilds it ended up with a supra motor sitting in the engine bay(not running). It still sits in my garage waiting for me to finish it. and now that i have a reliable daily driver (that the wife won't let me take to drift events) I will have alot more incentive to finish the RX8. Here is a pic of what she looks like now (under the inch of dust of coarse).

After the RX8 I bought an 05 Scion TC RS 1.0 (MT) this is what got me hooked on Scion. After a while, as much as I loved the car, I just had to go back to rwd and I found a 97 Lexus SC300 (MT) which was very rare (only around 120 manual transmission cars were produced that year and 97 is when they did face lift with better front end and tail lights, and also the last year they even made Manual models.)
the SC was my daily driver / drifter. I had K-Sport coilovers, a welded diff, and custom intake and exhaust. it was beater that would slide like crazy. It was a bit heavy for most of the tracks i took it too but it was a blast everyday on the steets.

Anyway after getting tried of having to fix things on a 15 year old car all the time, and the FRS was finally available, I will be selling the SC and concentrate on modding the FRS for a while and getting back to work on the 2J RX8.

I plan to take the FRS in a little different direction than I ever have before (mostly because I'm older than I ever have been before, lol) After over 10 years spent in the scene, one of the first mods I am going to do will be Bags. Iv'e always loved static setups, and honestly had more respect for them, but i just love the look of the FRS too much to scrape it up. And I just love the look of these cars slammed, sitting on the ground. So for the first time i'm going to truely conentrate on form>Function. I'm sure i'll still do intake and exhaust (and like what I said ealier, I like the thread on the ESC just cause i have a lead foot.) but I won't be tracking this car much, if at all so i'm just going to enjoy the car the plethora of parts already available for this platform and not complain about it being underpowerd like everyone else.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks for reading, see ya around the forum.
