Should I complain to Toyota?
Got back from the dealership and I wanted to get you guys opinion on this. Here is the story went in today to get the FR-S, told him about the trade in they appraised it he gave me a really low number, I told him forget it I will just not trade it in since we were so far off (3k off). Told him I'm graduating soon and my transcript date would not reflect the actual date until I filed a graduation form and it would take 3-4 weeks for it to show up on my transcript. He says no problem just talk to this guy can't remember his title he told me Toyota would not honor it because they would call the school to verify. I had my whole transcript printed out to show all the classes I was taking for fall and I would meet the graduation requirements. He keeps pressuring me about signing off and I was like I'm just gonna go shop around because this was the first dealer I went to. He slams his hand on the desk and walks off. Comes back and tells me we can leave, I ask him for the offer sheet he made me sign and my transcript along with utility bill and he tells me NOPE your not getting it. He walks us to the door and my dad sees a car he likes a scion iq or something and asks him how much it cost then the guy says don't worry about its too expensive for you. I was like WTFFF (my dad didn't even notice how his attitude had changed he was just asking the price).
Is this cause for concern? I don't want him fired but I need to inform the manager of the dealership, right? |

Wow what a douche. He obviously didn't care about you guys, why should you care about him. He wanted to be in the customer service field, if he can't provide that then he should be terminated. IMO

I would complain for sure. I would talk to the sales manager/owner dealerships are there to provide a service not to pressure you and belittle you and your family. Now about buying it there that is up to you either ask for a new sales man or go somewhere else. My sales guy didn't ever want to return any calls so I called and asked for someone else and he was awesome. Take your time don't just buy cause they slam there hands down and say sign. I walked out after the dealers 1st offer the APR was way too high. They came back with a better rate it's all in how you handle yourself don't look desperate LOL. But good luck in your search. Hope it works out for you.

F*CK that noise! I would defiantly call that place and ask to speak with a manger/owner. Because that sales guy who acted like that... would be fired. They have cameras all over that showroom so you can tell them to pull up the video and see.
Read the fine print on Scion's website about the College Rebate (assuming thats what you were asking about) It states you have to be a college grad or will be soon. Just have to prove you are. I am sure you have 90 days or something to send in final transcripts or they will "dis-honor" the rebate. What was the guys name? We should play pranks on him.

Complain. If he gets fired, good. People are still hurting for jobs these days. His ass getting canned means a job opportunity for somebody else who needs it and would appreciate it.

I was thinking the same. I would love a discount but there is no way I would walk back there after this incident.

I would call the sales manager. Don't get too huffy, just say you feel like you were mistreated and thought he should know. If he doesn't kiss your ass, call the general manager.
Sales side of a dealership is pretty much a revolving door for douche bags. Even the good guys generally don't last at a place for more than a few years. I've got 8 yrs on the service side of a VW dealership and there is just 1 salesman that has been there the whole time. Avg. tenure in the shop is like 10+ yrs and we got a couple of guys with 30 yrs. Calling Toyota would be a bit drastic at this point as there is a chain of command you should first follow. Don't be afraid to complain tho b/c whatever that guy gets....im sure he deserves. |

Buy somewhere else and drive it to the offending dealer and ask the jerk sales guy if he can help you with accessories. Laugh at him and walk to the service manager and tell him you will not be having them do any service for you because of the aforementioned jerk sales guy. Finally, post his name and number so we can annoy him for you.
Or you could take the high road, demand your documents including anything with your signature back and take your business elsewhere. |

I was also denied the grad deduction. Even with signed documents stating I'd be graduating within the 4 months they kept giving me the run around (toyota, not the dealer). They said the signatures and the date all had to be on the same paper which was not possible as I'm taking a course through a different school than the one issuing my diploma.
If you REALLY want / need the deduction, wait till you've actually graduated and show them the diploma. They can't say anything about that. Plus you'll likely be buying a 2014 model by then (within 4 months). |

I seriously seriously recommend you report him to them by one of there ways of contact on the above site, they will probably take some action against him and also tell them you already posted the issue onto this forum and people will know about the despicable service if they don't take action. Most likely the dealer will reconsider the deal with you on the car and take disciplinary action on the douchebag. Best of luck TAKE THE TIME AND DO IT !!! and you be in a FRS in no time ![]()
