Networking?

Hey Guys,

Seeing that it looks like I may be laid off soon, I was pondering at the thought of maybe a Networking thread here on forums. Would this be a far fetched idea or something that could possibly work? We could have sub categories based on geographical regions and post any job openings or opportunities for fellow members on the forums. Let me know what you guys think.

It's unfortunate that you may loose your job soon, but I don't feel the forum should have a sub category for "networking". My best bet is build a great LinkedIn profile and scout for jobs. Look for people you need to meet and ask them to talk about their company and industry. More like info sessions I call them.

What is you were doing and wanting to do?

I am a LinkedIn expert and actually manage a dozen business owners accounts and have a successful stories to tell using only LinkedIn.

Will

I'm currently an escrow coordinator for a real estate asset management company. Looks like the company is going under pretty soon so that is why I am a bit in "panic" mode. I do have a linkedin profile, I just thought the forums might open up some opportunities since all enjoy a similar interest in our cars. How do you find opportunities through linkedin? I have a profile, but spend very little time on the site. I'm interested in the IT industry, but will consider staying real estate if I can get a bump up in pay in what i'm making now. Do recruiters look for future employee's on linkedin? How do i make myself more searchable?
